ABOVE SUSPICION: THE RED DAHLIA
A skateboarding youth makes a shocking discovery at his local skate park – a lifeless white figure, spread-eagled on the grass, in plain sight. He runs away in terror, screaming.
DC Anna Travis arrives at the scene, now swarming with forensics and SOCOs. The whole team are shocked at what they find; a young girl has been sliced in half and apparently drained completely of her blood. Once the team are back at the Station, Barbara and Joan get their first glimpse of pictures of the victim; her mouth has been slashed from ear to ear, like a sick clown’s gaping smile. Due to the horrendous nature of the injuries, DCI James Langton insists on a press embargo.
